Meet our Coaches
Our Inspire CLE Volleyball coaches come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Together, our goal is to help young athletes to grow and develop both on and off the court.
Inspire CLE Volleyball is growing and we’re looking for passionate head and assistant coaches to join our team! If you love mentoring young athletes and want to make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you! Pay and season commitment, which includes weekly practices plus weekend tournaments (winter/spring season), to be determined based on age group and level.

Sheree Harvey
Sheree Harvey brings a wealth of knowledge about the sport, as well as the club volleyball world, to Inspire CLE.
Sheree’s incredible experience spans every role, multiple levels and many years of volleyball, not the least of which is playing at The Ohio State University and earning one of the first athletic scholarships for women after the passing of Title IX. While at OSU, she helped her team win the Big 10, 2nd place in the Big 10 and 6th place at Nationals. She was honored to also be invited to the USA Volleyball tryouts for the 1980 Olympics.
Sheree coached at both Kent State University and Stow-Munroe Falls High School, placing 2nd in Division 1 Ohio State Championships. She has placed many athletes in Division 1, 2 and 3 universities and NAIA. Several of these athletes are NCAA National Champions and many have competed overseas in pro leagues. One is currently playing for Atlanta Vibe (Pro Volleyball Federation). Sheree enjoys taking road trips during the fall to watch her players in colleges across the nation and is very proud to see many of her former players coaching at the college, high school and club levels.

Melanie Janci
Volleyball has been a part of Melanie’s life since birth. Having volleyball legend and teacher Sheree Harvey as a mother, her love for the game and teaching its many life lessons has grown to be a true passion. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
After being told she would never play collegiate volleyball because of her height (5’4″), her competitive drive took charge and she maximized years of training under some of the best coaches in Northeast Ohio to land a Division 1 spot at Coastal Carolina University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business. Today, Melanie continues to play and coach both sand and indoor volleyball. She has coached club volleyball for the last five years and is part of the girls volleyball coaching staff at her alma mater, Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
As a coach, mother, wife, daughter and friend, INSPIRE is what Melanie strives to do on a daily basis. Her hope with Inspire CLE is to live that goal in a way that empowers kids to unlock their true potential while creating great and memorable experiences in life.

KateLynn Riley
As a player, KateLynn Riley was a formidable offensive threat and a team leader with the ability to find the holes in any opposing defense. She played volleyball and ran track for the College of Wooster, earning All American honors in 2008 and NCAC Player of the Year in 2009. KateLynn coached freshmen volleyball at Berea-Midpark High School from 2015-2019 and served as Varsity/Head Coach there from 2020-2023. Coach
Beth Sugar
Beth’s more than 15 years of competitive volleyball experience has instilled a firm belief that every volleyball player’s strength rests in the 3Ds: Dedication, Determination and Discipline. These attributes are more than just what she expects from her athletes, they are also what she lives by as a coach, an athlete, and in her personal work and life. Beth has been coaching for the last six years and continues to play as part of adult coed leagues. She, her husband Al, and their children Alex and Harlee love spending time camping and, of course, playing volleyball. When she’s not passing the ball or enjoying her beautiful family, she makes her “day job” happen as Founder and CEO of Dental Credentialing Company.
Coach
Gabby Zapola
Gabby started playing volleyball in middle school and continues to play in sand and indoor leagues as well as open nets as an adult. She began coaching club volleyball in 2022 and also coached freshmen at Columbia High School. Volleyball is a big part of my Gabby’s life, whether it’s playing or coaching. She grew up around the sport and hopes to raise her daughters around it as well. She says being able to share her knowledge and experiences of the game with young athletes is the best feeling and looks forward to witnessing the growth of each athlete and seeing the potential each one has to reach.
